*My Favorite Design Tools in 2025 (And Why I Keep Coming Back to Them)

As a graphic designer, the tools we use shape not only how we work—but also what we create. Over the years, I’ve tried dozens of apps, platforms, and plugins, and while some were passing flings, others became daily essentials.

Here’s a breakdown of my favorite design tools right now, and why I keep reaching for them in 2025:

*1. Adobe Illustrator – Old but Gold

Yes, it’s a classic. But Illustrator still holds its ground when it comes to vector work. I mainly use it for logo design, icons, and any project where scalability is key. The precision, the pathfinder tools, and the way it integrates with other Adobe software make it hard to replace.

Why I love it:

  • Unmatched vector editing tools

  • Clean exports for clients

  • I can use it blindfolded at this point (almost)

*2. Figma – My Go-To for UI and Collaboration

Figma has changed the game completely. Whether I’m designing an app interface or mocking up a landing page, it makes collaboration with developers and clients smooth and intuitive. Plus, it runs in the browser, which still blows my mind a little.

Why I love it:

  • Real-time collaboration

  • Easy prototyping

  • Tons of useful community plugins

*3. Procreate – For Sketching and Expressive Illustration

When I want to get away from the mouse and just draw, I grab my iPad and open Procreate. It’s intuitive, responsive, and incredibly fun to use. I use it for concept sketches, illustrations, or even textures to later incorporate into other designs.

Why I love it:

  • Feels natural and fluid

  • Great brush customization

  • Exports in layered PSDs

Bonus: Some Tools I Left Behind (and Why)

I’ve slowly stepped away from Photoshop for anything other than photo editing—it just feels too bloated for layout work now. I also stopped using Canva for professional projects; it’s great for quick things, but not where I do my best work.

    Final Thoughts

Tools will always evolve, but what really matters is how well they support your process. These are the ones that make my life easier, help me create better, and (let’s be honest) make designing more fun.
