*The objective of this project is to create a website for a travel and rural activities agency called Ibiltaria. The agency aims to reconnect people with the villages and small towns of the Iberian Peninsula, promoting a return to these often-overlooked regions.

This initiative was born out of a growing need to revitalize rural areas in Spain and Portugal, counteracting the increasing trend of migration to large cities. By encouraging people to explore and engage with rural communities, Ibiltaria hopes to support local economies, preserve cultural heritage, and foster a deeper connection between people and the rich landscapes of the Iberian Peninsula

Ibiltaria offers a wide range of experiences, including travel packages to various parts of the peninsula and diverse activities such as hiking, cycling routes, or even participating in traditional crafts and trades at risk of disappearing.

*The objective of this project is to create an educational webpage for the book company TASCHEN, which will include a section of notes related to the history of graphic design. This new section is aimed at students and design enthusiasts who want to deepen their knowledge of the subject, providing content based on the notes from the “Historia del Diseño Fanzine” by Daniel de Blas Vázquez.

The website will cover topics such as design before documented history, Arts & Crafts, the avant-garde, Bauhaus, and Art Deco. It will also feature sections with detailed notes, review tools including summaries and interactive quizzes, and a personalized space where users can save their study materials.

The main goals of the project are to offer high-quality educational content, enhance learning through interactive tools, and ensure that the user experience is innovative and accessible. The aim is that, through an intuitive interface and a well-organized structure, users can learn more quickly and effectively. The target audience includes both design students and professionals, as well as enthusiasts who want to expand their knowledge.

For the research process of this website, I first conducted a keyword search using Google Trends, which allowed me to identify relevant terms for the site’s theme. Next, I designed and distributed a survey which was answered by more than 30 people, including design students and interested individuals. From the results, I was able to draw conclusions about the elements and sections the website should include.

Based on the survey data, I created a user that served as a guide for designing the user experience (UX) and improving the site’s usability. Then, I developed a flowchart to structure the website’s navigation and created wireframes to define the layout of the elements. Finally, I used a 12-column grid as the foundation for the visual structure and consistency of the design across all sections of the website.

For this website, I chose to create custom elements for both navigation and the UI Kit, including a unique loading screen, a personalized cursor, a scroll bar and interactive hover effects. Additionally, I designed an information carousel on the homepage and an image reveal effect in CMYK format, triggered by the selected button, as a reference to my fanzine on the History of Design.

I also incorporated a feature to save customized themes and an interactive review system based on information revealed.  This system allows the user to verify their learning by reviewing content they previously completed, ensuring they have fully understood the materia.

*The purpose of developing this webpage is to learn how to create a website from scratch using HTML and CSS, based on the finalized design provided. This project served as an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with these coding languages while building a functional and visually appealing webpage.

Out of three possible design options, this was the most complex choice, presenting a significant challenge and offering the chance to push my skills further. Successfully completing this project contributed to earning the highest distinction, an honor registration, in the subject Interactive Graphics, as part of the curriculum for the second year of the Degree in Graphic Design.
